Warmongering Times gives Judith Miller a great write-up...
A nauseating editorial from a putrid and shameless rag.
Sulzberger and Raines were worthy successors to William Randolph Hearst as manipulators for war; and Miller was their willing instrument. After that, no amount of sophomoric rhetoric can help the rag regain standing for handing out lessons in ethics or morality.
A New York Observer piece from February 2001 foretold that Howell Raines, and not then Managing Editor Bill Keller, would get the top job of Executive Editor when incumbent Joseph Lelyveld resigned.
Interesting stuff for the latecomer.
