The presidency is ended, but the judiciary lingers on...


The leg-work done by the San Francisco Chronicle produces a list of serving Federal judges by appointing President:

George W. Bush...205
Bill Clinton...350
George H.W. Bush...167
Ronald Reagan...273
Jimmy Carter...142
Gerald Ford...25
Richard Nixon...71
Lyndon Johnson...28
John F. Kennedy...6

Kennedy has been dead these almost 42 years - and still he has appointees on the bench!

And wasn't Carter a busy boy, for a one-term president! (Or were his appointees disproportionately young or healthy?)
