Loan-shark bill: how everyone can win
The bankruptcy bill took several Congresses to pass. Which was some relief to its victims; but also meant that the shylocks were obliged to keep feeding the K Street meter; and chip in contributions to legislators.
Quick solutions mean reduced cash flow: they're bad news. The last thing the GOP corporate welfare machine wants is an easy victory on HR 1295.
So they need to take a dive. And the same goes for those 14 shylock-loving senators who voted for cloture on S 256.
Bipartisan self-interested cooperation should mean that it's not S1295's night.
