Congress: bipartisan yen for air-miles

Of the $16 million in privately-funded travel of Members of Congress (2000-Winter 2005) almost $8.8 million (55%) was from tax-exempt and other organizations who receive funds from others.

A USA Today piece based on this helpfully points out that
...American Israel Education Foundation [is] an arm of the pro-Israel lobbying group AIPAC.

AIEF is the third highest spender (at $581,000). And Israel is joint second with Mexico in the destination popularity league.
