Blackmun and the obstetrician
A Times Magazine piece on Harry Blackmun (based on papers released last year) leads me to an interview with fellow Minnesotan Dr Jane Hodgson.
Hodgson, who went to Carleton College at the age of 15 in 1930 before training as a doctor at the Mayo Clinic, was convicted in Minnesota in 1970 of carrying out an abortion, a conviction only lifted by SCOTUS' Roe v Wade decision.
(The connection with Blackmun noted in the Times piece is merely that
Among Blackmun's files is an article from the Mayo alumni magazineby Hodgson.)
So far as I can see from Mr Google, Hodgson is still living.
