Under General Reid, 18 Dems desert on tort reform

It's only RC 9 and almost half his party have given Reid the Dick Cheney salute on - I should have thought - an issue one would expect Dems to united on.

S 5 is supposedly a compromise bill. But Harry Reid is not impressed:
This bill is one of the most unfair, anti-consumer proposals to come before the Senate in years. It slams the courthouse doors on a wide range of injured plaintiffs. It turns federalism upside down by preventing state courts from hearing state law claims. And it limits corporate accountability at a time of rampant corporate scandals.

The 'guilty' 18:

Bayh (D-IN)
Bingaman (D-NM)
Cantwell (D-WA)
Carper (D-DE)
Conrad (D-ND)
Dodd (D-CT)
Feinstein (D-CA)
Johnson (D-SD)
Kohl (D-WI)
Landrieu (D-LA)
Lieberman (D-CT)
Lincoln (D-AR)
Nelson (D-NE)
Obama (D-IL)
Reed (D-RI)
Rockefeller (D-WV)
Salazar (D-CO)
Schumer (D-NY)

Clearly, the list goes well beyond the list of DINO usual suspects - Schumer, for instance?

And one notes that the Senator from Kenya has disappointed the DEWDROPs once more - last time, it was failing to oppose the confirmation of Angel of Death Rice (January 27).
