A bookmark to return if Kerry loses Minnesota - a possibility discussed in a Hill article.

I looked at the history of North Dakota's Non-Partisan League (and LaFollette progressivism) in a couple of pieces [1] - the (by now) singular anomaly of Farmer-Labor deserves similar attention.

F-L sensibly threw in their lot with the Democrats. Robert LaFollette Jr stupidly didn't - and lost in the GOP primary to Joseph McCarthy. (Very much Cliff Notes...)

  1. August 8 and August 9. The trigger was the California recall - Lynn Frazier the only governor ejected by recall before the ever-popular Gray Davis.
