Congressional intel committees falling down on the job
Another one from the Howler - a 1,700 word piece by blog pin-up Dana Priest (April 27).
It reads to me as a solid piece of reporting, and was rewarded with a front page berth. Popdex and Blogdex show it to have pretty much sunk without trace in the blogosphere.
The basic message is, if the executive branch failed in its handling of intelligence, the legislative branch has done little better. Isn't that a tad worrying? Or does everyone know this already?
For the benefit of us out-of-the-loopy suckers, Priest does a good job.
