No bad news on the Early Bird: has Rummy gone ga-ga?
According to Howard Kurtz
Senior Pentagon managers have repeatedly ordered the department's widely read clipping service to exclude articles critical of the military and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, according to officials familiar with the practice.
I thought a key requirement of generalship was to know your enemy. Now some poor general gets doorstepped with What's your comment on today's LA Times article? and he's flummoxed. Not a puff piece, so not in the Early Bird.
Last living principal of the Kennedy administration (from memory), Whiz Kid Robert McNamara has been putting himself about - addressing the multitudes at Berkeley, for God's sake - in support of the movie about him. The poor bastard is 87 years old: yet I can't think that, put back in his old job, he'd approve such an asinine move as Rummy presumably has.
[Coupled with Bush getting his fair and balanced news blended or mashed by Nurse Condi, like a two year old, the Administration's message is clearly: Out with the bald eagle and in with the ostrich.]
