Native Times goes pay-only: surfing on waves of casino wampum, no doubt...

The California gaming Indians have $5 billion going through their hands each year. So it's only natural that an Indian rag should want its share.

The price: five bucks a day or (surely far too generous?) twenty bucks for six months.

Bearing in mind that most Indians don't get casino wampum - except via handouts from their more generous brethren - this is either several hours work at sub-minimum wage or a means of lighting a cigar, depending on which class of Indian one is talking about.

(How many non-gaming Indians are online? Libraries on reservations hooked up with free access?)

The only surprise: damned Google doesn't flag the site as having turned pay-only! (It's fairly recent.)
