Guardian's words of calm reflection for hacks post-Hutton
The Editor, Alan Rusbridger, produced a memo for his troops (January 30) that somehow I missed.
Remarkable not for its content but the absence of any sign of the hysteria that seemed to have gripped certain elements of the media on both sides of the pond following the appearance of the Hutton Report.
From what I've seen of his, fairly infrequent, appearances on TV, I've always thought him a bit of a pompous prig. His memo seems pretty free of sanctimony, though.
(Some transpondian censer-twirlers might wish to take note.)
