UK arms exports to Israel - an orphan story (so far)
No discernible reaction to today's piece in the Guardian - which once had the much loathed 'self-hating Jew' Suzanne Goldenberg as its Jerusalem correspondent - to the effect that
Large quantities of British arms and internal security equipment are being sold to Israel despite the government's public criticism of the country's human rights record and growing violence there...
There's nothing illegal in the sales, so far as I can see: though, according to the piece, HMG policy guidelines say that sales will be blocked
if there is a clear risk that the proposed export might be used for internal repression.
It's a classic dog bites man story. But, then, most Israel/Palestine stories that generate apoplexy among the usual suspects on all sides generally are.
